ICAR-CIFRI Observes Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 with the Theme “Probity for Prosperity” The Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 was formally inaugurated at ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CIFRI), Barrackpore, on 26 October 2026, and will continue until 1 November 2026, in line with the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) circular. The observance is built around the theme "Probity for Prosperity," which highlights the link between integrity in public institutions and the long-term development of the nation. In keeping with Annexure B of the CVC circular, the organisational integrity pledge was administered to the Institute's officials and staff. The pledge was administered under the leadership of Dr. S. Samanta, Director (In-charge), Sh. Nirmal Sarkar, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), and Dr. D.K. Meena, Vigilance Officer. Approximately 100 participants, including regular and contractual staff and research scholars, took part with great enthusiasm, and several staff members also undertook the e-pledge, reaffirming their personal commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability. Posters, banners, and placards displayed across the campus highlight the role of individuals and organizations in maintaining continuous vigilance, preventing corruption, and promoting transparency for the nation's overall development. The importance of this observance lies in building public trust in institutions: as a leading research body under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the Institute recognizes that sound governance in research, procurement, finance, and administration is essential to its scientific credibility and to the sustainable development of India's inland fisheries sector. Through this week-long observance, ICAR-CIFRI reaffirms its commitment to fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and vigilance in all its research and administrative activities, and encourages every employee to uphold ethical values in daily work and contribute to the shared vision of probity for prosperity.
