CIFRI Awards
ICAR-CIFRI conducted a brainstorming session on the occasion of Women in Agricultural Day. Every year 4th December is celebrated as ‘Women in Agriculture Day’ in ICAR to recognize the efforts and the contribution of women in the agricultural sector. On this occasion a brain storming session was organized to gather new ideas to amplify the contribution of women scientists, technical officers and young professionals in the field of inland fisheries. All the scientists , technical officers and students working in ICAR- CIFRI participated in this brain storming session.
The programme was started with formal welcome address by Dr. Sajina AM. Some new ideas regarding role and contribution of women were presented by Dr. Suman Kumari. New ideas were also presented by Ms. Hena Chokroborty and Dr. Shreya Bhattacharya, Young Professional of this institute. Ms. Suntita Prasad also gave her views on feminization of agriculture. The brain storming session was presided over by Dr. B.K das, Director,CIFRI. He praised all the women staffs for their sincere efforts in research as well as in institute building. Dr. Das also stressed upon leadership development among the women scientists. ICAR-CIFRI always extend a very good platform to the women staffs to work in the fisheries field for the cause of betterment of the society. The programme was ended with formal vote of thanks, proposed by Ms. Nirupada Chanu.
