ICAR-CIFRI observed Communal Harmony Campaign Week & Flag Day

ICAR-CIFRI observed Communal Harmony Campaign Week from 19-25, November 2022 and the Flag Day on 25, November 2022 to spread message on peace, harmony and National integration and to foster and reinforce the spirit of communal harmony among the staffs of the organization. The ICAR-CIFRI observed this campaign as partner of National Foundation for Communal Harmony, New Delhi, an autonomous organization with the Ministry of Home affairs, Govt. of India. Under the direction of the Director, Dr. B.K. Das, the week- long programmes were launched on November 21, 2022 with the administration of a commitment on national integration by the entire staff. The week-long sensitization programme included display of banners and posters at different locations of the institute for sensitizing the staffs on promoting fraternity and national integration by observing communal harmony. Further, voluntary fund- raising campaign was also organized in which institute staff contributed with enthusiasm and fervour. Additionally, Flag Day was commemorated on November 25, 2022, and flag were pin up by staff members to endorse communal harmony.

In concluding programme, Dr. M. A. Hassan and Dr. S. Samanta, Principal Scientist and Acting HODs commented on the strength of language, region, caste, tribe and religion-based diversity of citizens and stressed on need of secularism, anti-communalism and non-violence to promote communal Harmony. Dr. B. K. Das, Director of the Institute emphasized on the setting the example of India as a global leader in reconciling different diversities of the citizens into harmony, peace and integration.
