ICAR CIFRI observed Communal Harmony Campaign and Fund-Raising Week and Flag Day during 19-25 November, 2023 The staff members of ICAR-CIFRI observed Communal Harmony Campaign and Fund-Raising Week from 19-25, November 2023 and the Flag Day on 24th November 2023 to spread message on peace, harmony and national integration and to foster and reinforce the spirit of communal harmony among the staff of the organization. The institute observed this campaign as partner of National Foundation for Communal Harmony, New Delhi, an autonomous organization with the Ministry of Home affairs, Govt. of India. A pledge on the theme of secularism, anti-communalism and non-violence was taken by all the staff members on 19th November 2023.

The week-long sensitization programme included display of banners and posters at different locations of the institute for sensitizing the staffs on promoting fraternity and national integration by observing communal harmony. Further, voluntary fund- raising campaign for helping destitute children who are victims of communal violence, was also organized in which institute staff including staff of regional centres and stations contributed with enthusiasm and fervour. Flag Day was commemorated on 24th November 2023, the last working day of the week with an official ceremony in which the Director, Heads of Divisions, Chief Administrative Officer and other staff members shared their thoughts on importance of reinforcing the spirit of communal harmony in a culturally and religiously diverse Indian society and flags were pin up by staff members to endorse communal harmony.
