CIFRI Awards
ICAR-Central inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore, Kolkata, Agrinnovate India Ltd, New Delhi and M/s Glaucus Agrochem Pvt Limited, Kolkata signed Transfer License Agreement of ICAR-CIFRI Fish Tanavhari technology today on 16 April 2024. ICAR-CIFRI grants non-exclusive license for a period of five years for manufacturing and sale of ICAR-CIFRI Fish Tanavhari in the territory of India. The commercialization process was completed through Agrinnovate India Ltd, commercial arm of ICAR.
Dr. Joykrushna Jena, Deputy Director General, (Fisheries Science), ICAR, New Delhi Chief Guest congratulated all the CIFRI team for developing CIFRI Fish Tanavhari formulation. He stressed that this technology will revolutionise transportation of fish seed, live fish and brooders without harming quality. He was hopeful of large-scale adoption of technology in aquaculture and fisheries sector.
Dr. B. K. Das, Director ICAR-CIFRI, Barrackpore congratulated all the scientists working for the development of this technology. He said that in last five years, Institute has commercialized eight technologies. CIFRI Fish Tanavhari will be helpful in reducing mortality of fish seed during seed transportation and maintain the quality of live fish while transporting table fishes.
Dr Praveen Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Agrinnovate India Ltd. congratulated the CIFRI team and the Glaucus Agrochem on this occasion. He said that this technology is made from natural oils and safe to use. He hoped that this robust technology will help revolutionizing fish transportation in India.
Shri Sariful Islam, Managing Director, Glaucus Agrochem Pvt Limited said that Glaucus is associated with ICAR-CIFRI from a long time. He emphasized that this is the third technology licensed by ICAR-CIFRI with his company. He said that this technology is the cost effective, economical and farmer friendly.
Earlier Dr. Ganesh Chandra, In-charge, Institute Technology Management Unit welcomed all the guest and dignitaries and briefed about ICAR-CIFRI Fish Tanavhari Technology.
CIFRI Fish Tanavhari is a unique sedative and anesthetic herbal formulation used for fish handling and transportation under laboratory and field conditions. This solution does not possess any side effect on fish health with quick recovery to normal condition. The formulation is prepared from plant, particularly edible plant-based materials so it is environmentally safe & very much cost effective. As this product is herbal in nature it will also not cause any side effect on fishes.
