This training program was modulated to provide extensive laboratory research experience in molecular biology. The learning goals of this training program were hands-on experience on various laboratory techniques including the isolation, quantification, visualisation, and imaging of DNA, RNA, and proteins. Trainees were also provided with various software and analytical tools required for bioinformatic analysis of nucleic acids and proteins. Recent advancements in the field of genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics were taught to all the participants by various lectures and interactive sessions.
Dr. B.K. Das enlightened the trainees with various molecular tools and techniques used in different aspects of Inland Fishery. He also explained the application of advanced tools and techniques. He further added the importance of application of molecular tools in fish diagnosis and bioinformatics in viral disease diagnostics and management. Dr. Archana Sinha, HOD, AEB Division and co-convener of this training programme addressed the importance of this training in today’s research.
