Concept Building in Basic Statistics for Biological Data Analysis

ICAR-CIFRI, Prayagraj has conducted a offline training programme on “Concept Building in Basic Statistics for Biological Data Analysis” during 31st July-02nd August, 2024. The three days training programme was inaugurated by Dr B. K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, Barrackpore and Dr R. K. Tyagi, Ex-Principal Scientist of ICAR-CIFRI was the special guest during valedictory session. Total 23 participants, 13 girls and 10 boys participated in the programme coming from different districts of U.P. viz. Prayagraj, Audhya, Basti, Aligarh and Jhansi. Students from different universities viz.

Allahabad University, Rajjubhaiya University, Prayagraj, Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya and Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh across the discipline Agriculture, fisheries, biotechnology etc. participated in the training. Descriptive statistics for data analysis, Testing of Hypothesis, ANOVA, Chi square testing, Correlation & Regression, Regression diagnostics using different software viz. Excel, R and SPSS were covered by Dr Malay Naskar, Dr Dharm Nath Jha, Dr Anil Kumar Yadav and Dr Rohan Raman. Dr Dharm Nath Jha, Dr V. R. Thakur and Mr Jeetendra Kumar were the coordinator of the programme and it was assisted by Md Quasim &other staff of the centre.
