ICAR-CIFRI celebrates 78th Independence Day

ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore celebrated 78th Independence Day on 15 August 2024 with great fervour. As part of Aazaadi Ka Amrit Kaal, Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was launched from 9-15 August at Institute headquarters Barrackpore, Kolkata and Regional centres Guwahati, Prayagraj, Bangalore and Vadodara.

With the march past by the members of security staffs from the CIFRI Residential Quarters to the Main building of the institute, the programme started. On this occasion, Dr. Basanta Kumar Das, Director hoisted National Tricolour in the grand event at the institute. Officers, staff members, research scholars and contractual staffs along with their family members and locals of Barrackpore have attended the Flag hoisting ceremony. The Director, ICAR-CIFRI, in his address greeted and congratulated all the members of ICAR-CIFRI family on the occasion of 78th anniversary of Indian independence.

He call upon all the scientists to work hard to fulfil their 100 day target and also the goal set by honourable Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Minister and DG ICAR of one Patent/One product/ publication in high impact factor journals. He emphasized that CIFRI effort towards livelihood improvement of fishermen communities through SCSP and TSP in different states of India has given significant results.

Director called upon all the scientists to work with concerted efforts and contribute in making country Viksit Bharat as per the vision of honourable Prime Minister.
He emphasised that in this year, ICAR awarded certificates to seven technologies of ICAR-CIFRI on the occasion of ICAR-Foundation day at New Delhi on 16 July 2024. CIFRI Fish Tanavhari have been commercialized through Agrinnovate India Ltd. The Institute has received grant of one patent, 11 copyrights, 3 trademark in the last one year. The institute has filed four patents, eleven copyrights, and three trademarks in the last one year. . He asked all the CIFRIANS to contribute 100% for achieving greater success of ICAR-CIFRI and national building.

The Institute observed Har Ghar Tiranga campaign at Headquarter, Barrackpore Kolkata and it's Regional Centers from 9-15 August 2024. All the Officers and staff members of Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute hoisted National flag at residences as part of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign on 9 August to 15 August.
