Dr J.K Jena, Deputy Director General (Fisheries Sciences) visited ICAR-CIFRI

Dr J.K Jena, Deputy Director General, visited ICAR-CIFRI, Headquarters, Barrckpore on 16 Aug 2024. CIFRI has been blessed to have laid down the foundation stone, at its HQ, Barrackpore, for a Laboratory building adjacent to the Administrative Building through the hands of Hon'ble DDG (Fisheries Science) Dr J. K. Jena. He also unfurled the curtain of 'Selfie Point' in front of 'Block A' of the Main building of the Institute and also inaugurated the New facility of GC-MS/MS, a high-quality instrument for the analysis of pollutants dedicated to the Nation. Dr Jena also inaugurated instrumental facilities dedicated to analyses of nitrous oxide, Methane, Carbon dioxide, Carbon monoxide and CFC gases responsible for global warming.

After that, a staff meeting was organized. He addressed the Scientists, technical staff, administrative staff and scholars of the Institute. While addressing the CIFRIANs, he urged all to maintain the legacy and glory of the very age-old renowned Institute which has already attained a newer height not only to bag the Best Institute Award from ICAR but also has developed solidarity in the inland fisheries sector of India and made India the leader of Inland fisheries production globally. Dr Jena has shower his choicest blessings to Dr B K Das, Director of the Institute, for his outstanding contribution in reshaping the Institute to its present condition in all-round excelling research, and technological innovations, including publications with high impact factors.

It is indeed a remarkable moment for the CIFRIANs to get recharged and energized, which would pave the way for delivering their best in the days to come for the Institute.
