ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute conducted a 7-days training programme on ‘Inland Fisheries Management’ during 04-10 September 2024, for the trainees of Nawada district of Bihar. Thirty fish farmers and the fisheries extension officer from the Govt. of Bihar attended the training programme. The training program was sponsored by the Directorate of Fisheries, Govt of Bihar.
Dr. B.K. Das, Director of ICAR-CIFRI inaugurated the training programme and addressed the fish farmers. He stressed the need for fish farmers to learn about inland fisheries management for a sustainable livelihood and nutritional security. He urged fishers to make use of the knowledge and skills of resource persons and the available CIFRI technology to maximize the outputs and productivity from the farms/natural water bodies.

Participants also had the opportunity to visit the In-house facilities like Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS), ornamental fish hatchery units, and fish feed mill.
A feedback session has been conducted for further improvement of training. The participants received their training certificate from Dr B. K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI after completion of training on 10th September 2024. He congratulated all the participants on their successful completion of training.
