ICAR-CIFRI signed Technology License agreement with M/s M R Aquatech for “CIFRI Pen HDPE”

ICAR-Central inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore, Kolkata, Agrinnovate India Ltd, New Delhi and M/s M. R. Aquatech, Bhubaneswar signed Transfer License Agreement of ICAR-CIFRI Pen HDPE technology on 24 September 2024. ICAR-CIFRI grants non-exclusive license for a period of five years for manufacturing and sale of ICAR-CIFRI Pen HDPE in the territory of India. The commercialization process was completed through Agrinnovate India Ltd, commercial arm of ICAR.

Dr. B. K. Das, Director ICAR-CIFRI, Barrackpore congratulated all the scientists working for the development of this technology. He emphasized that this technology has been commercialized for the second time. He said that in last five years, Institute has commercialized eight technologies. This technology is used extensively in India for in-situ quality fish fingerling production for stocking in reservoir and wetlands.
Dr. B. K. Behera, Chief Executive, National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad congratulated all the CIFRI team for commercialization of CIFRI Pen HDPE for second time. He stressed that this technology will revolutionise in-situ fish fingerling production without harming quality for stocking in reservoir and wetland. He was hopeful of large-scale adoption of technology in aquaculture and fisheries sector.

Dr Praveen Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Agrinnovate India Ltd. congratulated the CIFRI team and the M. R. Aquatech on this occasion. He hoped that this robust technology will help revolutionizing in-situ quality fish fingerling production in India.
Earlier Dr. Ganesh Chandra, In-charge, Institute Technology Management Unit welcomed all the guest and dignitaries and briefed about ICAR-CIFRI Pen HDPE Technology. Shri Subhash Chandra, Director, Department of Fisheries, Govt of India was also present on this occasion.
