Deputy Director General (Fisheries Science), ICAR visited the Guwahati Regional Centre of ICAR-CIFRI

Dr. Joykrushna Jena, Deputy Director General (Fisheries Science), ICAR, New Delhi visited the ICAR-CIFRI Regional Centre, Guwahati on 24th October, 2024. At the outset, all staff members warmly welcomed Dr. Jena to the Centre, followed by a visit to the laboratories, ornamental fish unit and other facilities of the Centre.

He then addressed all the scientific, technical, administrative and contractual staff including scholars of the Centre. During his interaction, he mentioned about the importance of the region and suggested to strengthen the outreach activities of the Centre and to provide more training programmes to the stakeholders.

He also suggested to popularize the ICAR-CIFRI technologies among the fisher communities in Northeast region. He motivated all the staff members to be more vibrant in research and other activities of the Centre. His visit has motivated and energized the staff to deliver better in the future for the betterment of the institute.
