Vigilance Awareness Week:Extempore speech competition

As part of the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, the ICAR–Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CIFRI), Barrackpore, organized an Extempore Speech Competition at its headquarters on October 29, 2025. The event saw the active participation of eleven contestants, each delivering an impromptu speech on topics highlighting the significance of vigilance, integrity, and ethical conduct.

Themes included Building a Culture of Honesty and Trust in Institutions, Ethics in Public Life: A Pathway to National Progress, Vigilance Begins with Self – Be the Change You Wish to See, A Day Without Corruption – Imagine the Difference, Conscience: The Best Vigilance Officer Within, and Integrity in Action: Choosing Right When No One is Watching.The participants expressed their ideas with enthusiasm, creativity, and clarity, making the competition a vibrant forum for exchanging views on promoting transparency, accountability, and moral responsibility. The event successfully reinforced the importance of vigilance as a collective responsibility and encouraged individuals to uphold integrity in both personal and professional spheres.
