ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute celebrated the International Women's Day on 8th March 2019 at it's headquarter at Barrackpore.The day started with honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi's live speech telecasted in the national television. All the staff members of the institute attended the speech played in the auditorium of the institute. Dr. B. K. Das, Director of the institute felicitated all women staff of the institute with flowers and best wishes. A brief brain storming session was arranged to celebrate the occasion. Dr. Suhrita Chakroborty, Professor, B.C.K.V graced the occasion as chief guest. She gave a powerful speech on women empowerment and gender concepts. Dr. B. K. Das, Director of the institute addressed the audience and highlighted on the role of women in strengthening science and education system of the country. The event was followed by a cultural program in which women members of the institute took active participation. A food court was also arranged in the institute premises to celebrate the day with joy and grace.
