The Review meeting of Vigilance Officers, Administrative officers, Finance and Account Officers of 19 ICAR Institutes of Eastern and North Eastern region held at ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore on 10th October, 2017. Additional Secretary, DARE and Secretary, ICAR Shri Chhabilendra Roul presided over the meeting. Sh. Rajan Agrawal, Director,DARE and Chief Vigilance Officer, ICAR, Sh. VP Kotyal, Director Works, Sh SK Sinha, Under Secretary Vigilance were present in the meeting. Dr. B. K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI welcomed Secretary, ICAR and other dignitaries and briefed him about the various achievement of CIFRI over the years. More than 60 officers of vigilance, administrative and finance and accounts from 19- ICAR Institutes located in Eastern and North-Eastern states attended the review meeting. Senior officials of CPWD from Easten region were also present in the review. The pending Audit paras, purchase of major equipments and proprietory items and Institute vigilance matters were the major focal points for discussion in this meeting. In his presidential remarks,Shri Chhabilendra Roul, Secretary, ICAR briefed about the importance of transparency in purchase procedure and also informed the house that we are examined by CAG. He also added that we have to be accountable on spending public money. He told the participants to make themselves enrich by interacting with the senior officials from ICAR HQ and take positives from this review meeting. On this occasion, the new ICAR-CIFRI website was also inagaurated by Shri Chhabilendra Roul, Secretary, ICAR. Sh. Rajan Agrawal, Director DARE and CVO, ICAR Director spoked on various aspects on vigilance. Director Works, Sh. VP Kotyal made presentation on works being undertaken by CPWD. Sh. Rajesh Sahay, Deputy Director Finance made presentation on financial management and utilization of budget. The meeting ended up with vote of thanks by Mr. Rajeev Lal, Chief Administrative Officer,ICAR-CIFRI.
